01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Tucked into a quiet residential corner of Sakuradai in Nerima Ward, Yoshiya Restaurant approaches French cooking with restraint, stepping back from heavy seasoning to let the intrinsic character of each ingredient take the lead. An appetizer of grilled conger eel, for instance, arrives with crisp charred skin and little more than a touch of wasabi, presented alongside sweet, aromatic vegetables so that natural flavors form their own seasoning.
The core offering revolves around course menus, supplemented by plat du jour specials, à la carte fish and meat plates, and cheese selections. Beverages are curated with equal freedom: diners can choose from glasses of wine and sparkling selections, warm cups of Kaishun junmai sake, or coffee served in a relaxed, hospitable style.
Operated solely by the chef, the dining room has only a small handful of seats, keeping the atmosphere hushed and focused on good food and quiet conversation. Because ingredients and prep work are planned around individual reservations, booking in advance is strongly recommended. Please note that payments are accepted in cash only.
